Impact Rosenberg will return to the major-league roster after being sent down to Salt Lake on Aug. 14, posting a 3.73 ERA and 1.21 WHIP with 31 strikeouts over 31.1 innings in five starts since being optioned. The southpaw has produced a 6.87 ERA over 18.1 innings in four appearances, including a start, with the Angels this season. In a corresponding move, right-hander Caden Dana was optioned to Double-A Rocket City on Monday.

Impact Rosenberg threw five innings of one-run ball during his long-relief appearance Tuesday. He'll now be sent back to Triple-A in favor of Brock Burke, who was claimed off waivers from Texas on Tuesday and will provide the Halos' bullpen with another fresh arm.

Tosses five innings in long relief Rosenberg allowed one run on two hits and two walks while striking out four batters over five innings in long relief against Toronto on Tuesday.

Impact Angels starter Carson Fulmer was able to go just three innings, giving up five runs while tossing 75 pitches. Rosenberg -- who was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake earlier in the day -- stepped in and logged what was essentially a starter's workload with 78 pitches of his own, and he was much more effective than Fulmer in yielding just one run across five frames. Due to the large workload, Rosenberg will presumably now be unavailable for several days, so he could move back to the minors in short order to allow Los Angeles to bring up a fresh arm.

Impact Since being optioned to the minors July 26, Rosenberg has allowed nine earned runs in just seven innings. Despite his poor performance, he'll now rejoin the Angels and presumably serve as a long-relief option. Davis Daniel was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Impact Rosenberg has made two appearances in long relief this month, allowing seven runs with a 7:4 K:BB over 10 innings. He's been starting this year in the minors and threw 95 and 69 pitches, respectively, in his two relief appearances with the big club, so Rosenberg should be able to handle a pretty standard workload against Oakland.

Impact Jack Kochanowicz was given the start in his MLB debut but lasted just three innings, giving up five runs (four earned). Rosenberg entered in the fourth and took on what amounted to a full starting workload, tossing 95 pitches (55 strikes) across six frames. It was the southpaw's first big-league outing of the season, but he was ready to handle the hefty workload since he was a starter in all 14 of his appearances with Triple-A Salt Lake. Given his usage Thursday, it wouldn't be surprising if Rosenberg is sent back to the minors in short order since he likely won't be available to take the mound again until after the All-Star break.
