Outrighted to minors Cody (shoulder) was outrighted to Triple-A Round Rock on Friday.

Impact Cody dealt with shoulder injuries for most of the 2021 campaign and will miss the start of the 2022 season after he underwent surgery in late September. The right-hander will now lose his spot on the 40-man roster to make room for several prospects whose contracts were selected Friday.

Undergoes shoulder surgery Cody (shoulder) underwent labral debridement surgery Wednesday, Chris Halicke of SI.com reports.

Impact Cody has been shut down since late April with an inflamed right shoulder, and with the injury failing to show the desired improvement over the subsequent five months, the 27-year-old has seemingly opted for a procedure as the last resort. The Rangers are hopeful that Cody will be ready to pitch in the second half of the 2022 campaign, but any setbacks along the way could push his recovery timeline into 2023.
