Impact The veteran southpaw had another rough outing, as he is now three starts from the lead for most games started in Rockies franchise history -- currently held by Aaron Cook at 206. Freeland stumbled out the gate immediately in this appearance, allowing four runs on four hits in the first inning. The 31-year-old has had a tough beginning to the season, sporting a 4.88 ERA and 1.21 WHIP over 24 innings; however, better things may be around the bend for Freeland, as he's pitched to a solid 2.49 FIP with 17:2 K:BB. Impact Milwaukee first got to Freeland in the second inning, touching up the left-hander for four runs courtesy of a Jackson Chourio two-run double and one-run singles by William Contreras single and Sal Frelick. Freeland righted the ship for three scoreless frames afterward, but a Brice Turang home run in the seventh sent the southpaw packing Tuesday. Freeland has now gone at least six innings in each of his first three starts while working to a 3.79 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and a pristine 15:0 K:BB across 19 frames, but he'll face a difficult task in San Diego for his next scheduled start over the weekend.

Impact Freeland pitched well for the second straight outing, but he got very little run support as Zack Wheeler consistently stifled Colorado's hitters. Though he was tagged with the loss, Freeland notched his second quality start while giving up only one extra-base hit (a double) among the nine knocks against him. The veteran lefty has yielded just three runs across 12.2 frames while posting a 10:0 K:BB over his first two starts of the season. Freeland's home park and mediocre numbers in recent campaigns are valid reasons for fantasy managers to question whether he's worth a pickup, however.

Impact Freeland needed just 67 pitches to record 18 outs but was pulled after six innings as he builds up his pitch count in his first start of the season. The left-hander attacked the strike zone with 53 of his 67 offerings going for strikes. Freeland would like to forget his 2024 campaign in which he produced a bloated 5.24 ERA (his highest since 2019) and this was a great way to start. His bullpen let him down late, however, costing him the win as the Rockies fell 3-2. He is tentatively lined up for a tough matchup on the road at Philadelphia next week.
