Samuel Aldegheri - Rocked by Astros Aldegheri (1-2) took the loss Friday as the Angels fell 5-3 to the Astros, giving up four runs on six hits and five walks over two-plus innings. He failed to strike out a batter. Impact After recording his first career win and first quality start in his last outing, Aldegheri crashed back to earth with a thud. The southpaw threw only 26 of 53 pitches for strikes before getting the hook, and when he did get the ball over the plate it was hit hard, highlighted by a two-run homer from Alex Bregman that helped chase Aldegheri from the game in the third inning. The Angels are essentially holding auditions for their 2025 rotation over the final weeks, so the 22-year-old will keep his spot, but he isn't building a strong case. Aldegheri will take a 4.85 ERA and 10:10 K:BB through his first 13 big-league innings into his next start, which is scheduled to be a rematch with the Astros back in Houston next week.
