Luis Rengifo - Key hit, two steals in win Rengifo went 1-for-4 with a two-run double, a walk and a pair of stolen bases in Saturday's 9-7 win over the Rangers.

Impact Rengifo notched steals in the first and third innings after a fielder's choice and a walk, giving him a career-high five stolen bases this season. In the eighth, he added a go-ahead, two-run double to cap off the Angels' five-run rally that held up for the win. The infielder has enjoyed a terrific July, going 30-for-89 (.337) while only being held hitless in two of 23 games this month. The massive surge has his slash line up to .275/.321/.415 in 67 contests overall.

Shohei Ohtani - Smashes 22nd homer Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Saturday's 9-7 win over the Rangers.

Impact Ohtani gave the Angels their first lead in the back-and-forth game with his third-inning blast. He also walked in the eighth and came around to score the go-ahead run on a Luis Rengifo two-run double. Prior to Saturday, Ohtani had gone only 3-for-22 at the plate in his previous six games, though two of those hits went for extra bases. He's slashing .251/.346/.486 with 22 long balls, 62 RBI, 57 runs scored and 11 stolen bases through 422 plate appearances.

Touki Toussaint - Earns win in Halos debut Toussaint (1-0) allowed two runs on two hits and two walks with three strikeouts in four innings of relief, earning the win Saturday over the Rangers.

Impact If Saturday's game was an audition for one spot in the rotation, Toussaint fared better than starter Chase Silseth. Toussaint's lone mistake was a two-run home run to Meibrys Viloria in the sixth inning, though the Angels rallied ahead with a five-run eighth to put the 26-year-old righty in line for the win. Toussaint made 15 of his 18 major-league appearances over the last two years as a starter, though he's yet to really establish himself. The Angels have a high number of pitchers stretched out to a starter's workload, but few have really seized the chance to hold down a spot at the back end of the team's six-man rotation. Until stated otherwise, Toussaint can be considered a multi-inning reliever with the potential to fill in as a spot starter.

Raisel Iglesias - Navigates trouble for save Iglesias earned the save in Saturday's 9-7 win over the Rangers, striking out one and allowing a hit and a walk in one scoreless inning.

Impact Iglesias went a month between save conversions, as his was June 29. He had a spotty stretch with a blown save and two losses in mid-July, but he's settled down with no runs allowed in his last four appearances spanning four frames. The Angels' free fall in the standings has seen them win just six times in July, which has undoubtedly limited Iglesias' high-leverage opportunities. He owns a 4.11 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 48:9 K:BB across 35 innings while converting 16 of 19 save chances this year.

Chase Silseth - Goes four innings Saturday Silseth allowed five runs on five hits and four walks with five strikeouts in four innings against the Rangers on Saturday. He did not factor into the decision.

Impact Silseth has only exceeded five innings once in seven major-league outings this year. He started well Saturday, but he gave up two runs in the third inning and a three-run home run to Marcus Semien in the fourth. He now has a 6.59 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 24:12 K:BB through 28.2 innings, but it's no guarantee he gets another turn through the rotation during this stint with the Angels. At least one of Silseth, Janson Junk or Touki Toussaint -- who earned the win in relief Saturday -- is likely to be sent down soon to help replenish the team's bullpen depth.

Impact Adell missed two games with a bruised arm, though he appeared as a pinch hitter Thursday. The double was his first extra-base hit in his current stint on the big-league roster, which began July 13. The 23-year-old outfielder has a .235/.283/.361 slash line with three home runs, three stolen bases, 13 RBI and six runs scored in 36 contests, so he'll likely continue to compete with Taylor Ward and Brandon Marsh for starts in the Angels' outfield sans Mike Trout (ribs).

Impact Sandoval will be glad to put July in the past, as he went 0-5 with 17 runs allowed in 24.2 innings this month, though he did add 32 strikeouts. Both runs against him Friday came in the sixth inning. The southpaw's slump has him at a 3.61 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 97:41 K:BB in 89.2 innings through 17 starts overall. Sandoval will look to get back on track in August, beginning with a projected road start versus the Mariners.
