José Marte - Placed on injured list The Angels placed Marte on the 15-day injured list Saturday due to a viral infection, retroactive to Aug. 8.
Impact Marte has been surprisingly effective out of the bullpen for Los Angeles this year, posting a 2.33 ERA and 1.24 WHIP through 19.1 innings after entering the season with an 8.14 ERA in the majors. However, he'll now be held out until at least Aug. 23 as he fights off an infection. Jack Kochanowicz was recalled from Double-A Rocket City in a corresponding move.

Impact Kochanowicz was recalled from Double-A on Wednesday before being optioned back two days later without making an appearance. He'll now rejoin the Angels and will most likely be used as a long relief option out of the bullpen. Jose Marte (illness) was placed on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move.

Anthony Rendon - Collects three hits vs. former club Rendon went 3-for-5 with a stolen base in a loss to the Nationals on Friday.
Impact None of Rendon's three singles led to any runs for the Angels, but the performance was still a positive one for the third baseman, who was playing at Nationals Park for the first time since winning the World Series with Washington in 2019. Rendon has dealt with a bevy of injuries since joining the Angels in 2020, and he's played in only 36 contests so far this year. The 34-year-old has gone 5-for-11 with two walks over three contests since returning from his most recent stint on the injured list Aug. 7.

Jo Adell - Goes deep Friday Adell went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's loss to Washington.
Impact Adell accounted for the Angels' only runs in the contest with a 431-foot, two-run shot in the second inning. The long ball extended his hitting streak to eight games, a span in which he's slashing .310/.355/.483 with six RBI and three extra-base hits. Though Adell's .202 season batting average is problematic, he's brought his strikeout rate to a poor-but-improved 28.6 percent and has been useful in fantasy for his combination of power and speed, as he's produced 17 home runs and 14 steals along with 53 RBI.

Davis Daniel - Starting on three days' rest Sunday Daniel will make his next start Sunday in Washington against the Nationals, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Impact Daniel was roughed up in his most recent loss Wednesday in the first game of a doubleheader with the Yankees, taking a loss while giving up five earned runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out four. Even though Daniel handled a relatively standard workload (83 pitches) in that outing, the Angels will have the right-hander return to the mound on three days' rest rather than his usual four or five Sunday. The Angels haven't specifically said that Daniel will be on a workload restriction against the Nationals, though it wouldn't be surprising if that was the case.
