José Quijada - Hurls scoreless frame in 2024 debut Quijada allowed one walk in a scoreless inning Wednesday versus Seattle.
Impact Quijada's outing was his first in the big leagues since he underwent Tommy John surgery in May of 2023. The left-hander struggled a bit with his control in throwing just nine of 17 pitches for strikes, but he faced the minimum three batters, as a leadoff walk was wiped out on a double play. Quijada pitched in the sixth inning Wednesday, though he could eventually work his way up to higher-leverage work if he's able to string together a series of effective outings.

Carlos Estévez - Notches 20th save Estevez pitched a perfect inning against the Mariners on Wednesday to earn a save.
Impact Estevez needed just nine pitches to set the Mariners down in order and preserve a 2-1 victory. The right-hander continued his run of dominance, as he's now held the opponent without an earned run in 19 straight appearances covering 18.1 innings. Over that span, Estevez has gone 13-for-13 in save chances and has posted a minuscule 0.38 WHIP.

Griffin Canning - Rebounds with five solid frames Canning allowed one run on four hits and three walks while striking out six batters over five innings in a no-decision against Seattle on Wednesday.
Impact Canning experienced right elbow soreness in his previous start July 19, but the issue didn't cause him to miss any turns in the rotation. The right-hander didn't seem to be limited at all Wednesday, as he tossed 94 pitches and completed five frames for the first time since June 29. Canning didn't get any run support while he was in the contest and had to settle for a no-decision, but this was a good outing for him after he had given up 12 earned runs across 12 innings over his previous three starts. He's been a player to avoid in fantasy this season, posting a 5.04 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 79:41 K:BB over 110.2 innings.

Impact The Angels had originally hoped to use Trout as the DH in a rehab game with Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday after he experienced soreness in his surgically repaired left knee Tuesday. However, he will instead be looked at by team doctors in order to properly determine the severity of his latest setback. The 32-year-old has been looking to return to the Angels' lineup before the end of July, though the chances of that happening appear to be shrinking.

Mike Trout - Could DH for Salt Lake on Wednesday Angels manager Ron Washington said that Trout (knee) could be ready to serve as Triple-A Salt Lake's designated hitter Wednesday, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.
Impact Trout began a rehab assignment with Salt Lake on Tuesday but had to be removed after one plate appearance and two innings in center field with soreness in his surgically repaired left knee. However, Washington said Trout was feeling better as the night went on and it sounds like he could be ready to at least hit Wednesday. Trout has been targeting a return before the end of July, but that's tentative.

Kenny Rosenberg - Drawing start Thursday Rosenberg will start Thursday's game versus the Athletics, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Impact Rosenberg has made two appearances in long relief this month, allowing seven runs with a 7:4 K:BB over 10 innings. He's been starting this year in the minors and threw 95 and 69 pitches, respectively, in his two relief appearances with the big club, so Rosenberg should be able to handle a pretty standard workload against Oakland.

Impact Rengifo returned to the lineup for the first time since July 3 and provided a clutch piece of hitting with a two-run single in the fifth to extend the Angels' lead to 5-0. Though he missed some time with a wrist injury, Rengifo has 12 hits and seven RBI over his last eight games and is slashing .314/.357/.439 with six homers, 27 RBI, 36 runs, 22 steals and a 13:36 BB:K in 273 plate appearances this season. His power numbers are down compared to his past two years (33 homers combined) but he's on pace for a career-high in average and his 22 steals are more than what he's accumulated over his previous five seasons combined (18).

José Soriano - Excels versus Seattle again Soriano (6-7) got the win over the Mariners on Tuesday, allowing one run on three hits and three walks while striking out five over 7.2 innings.
Impact Soriano faced off against the Mariners for the second time in 10 days and was even better Tuesday night. His only troublesome inning was in the fifth when he allowed a leadoff double followed by a walk but was able to get out of the jam with only one run given up. Tuesday's outing was just the third time this season he's pitched more than seven innings and he's now given up two runs or less in four of his last six starts. The hard-throwing righty lowered his ERA to a 3.51 to compliment a 1.17 WHIP and 77:37 K:BB in 95 innings. He'll aim to pick up his third straight win when he faces the Athletics over the weekend.
