Matt Peacock - Cleared to start MondayPeacock (finger) is scheduled to start Monday's series opener in San Francisco.
ImpactPeacock's availability for his sixth start of the season was in some question after he took a comebacker off his right ring finger in his outing Wednesday versus the Athletics, but he'll be ready to go Monday on his normal four days' rest. Through his first five MLB starts, the 27-year-old has posted a 4.76 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 6.4 K/9 across 22.2 innings.
JUNE 13, 2021ROTOWIRE
David Fletcher - Buried in batting orderFletcher will bat ninth and start at second base in Sunday's series finale against the Diamondbacks.
ImpactEven with the Angels needing the pitcher to hit for the three-game weekend series in Arizona, Fletcher continues to serve as the team's No. 9 hitter. He's filled that spot in the batting order for every game dating back to May 19, and manager Joe Maddon has shown no inclination to push Fletcher up in the lineup. Fletcher is hitting a credible .267 over that 23-game stretch, but a .321 on-base percentage to go with only four extra-base hits (three doubles, one triple) have muted the impact of his solid batting average.
JUNE 13, 2021ROTOWIRE
Kean Wong - Fades into reserve roleWong is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.
ImpactWong replaced Juan Lagares in the lineup for games Wednesday and Friday, but the former will remain on the bench for the second straight contest Sunday while Lagares joins Taylor Ward and Justin Upton in the outfield. Since being called up from Triple-A Salt Lake on May 29, Wong is hitting .179 and getting on base at a .207 clip. He'll likely fill a utility role for Los Angeles for the foreseeable future.
JUNE 13, 2021ROTOWIRE
Shohei Ohtani - Sitting in NL parkOhtani is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.
ImpactOhtani has played 6.1 innings in the corner outfield this season, but the Angels have thus far been unwilling to have him make a start in the field on his non-pitching days. With no designated-hitter spot available at Chase Field, Ohtani will be limited to a bench role for the second day in a row.
JUNE 13, 2021ROTOWIRE
Kurt Suzuki - Day-to-day with sore left legSuzuki is considered day-to-day after being hit by a pitch on the back of his left leg Friday, MLB.com reports.
ImpactSuzuki was replaced by a pinch runner after the hit-by-pitch occurred in the 10th inning of Friday's win, and he gave way behind the plate to Max Stassi on Saturday. Stassi is starting again Sunday, but he is considered the Angels' primary catcher, so his presence in the lineup on back-to-back days may have no connection to Suzuki's leg issue. The Angels have not called up a catcher to provide insurance behind the plate, so Suzuki figures to be well enough to play if needed.
JUNE 13, 2021ROTOWIRE
Josh Rojas - Gets Sunday offRojas is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.
ImpactAfter turning in his second two-homer game in as many Saturdays, Rojas will retreat to the bench for the series finale in what's likely just a routine rest day. Since settling in as Arizona's primary leadoff man May 26, Rojas is hitting .194 and getting on base at a .275 clip. He doesn't appear at risk of losing hold of a full-time role, though Rojas could end up settling lower in the Arizona lineup more frequently.
JUNE 13, 2021ROTOWIRE
David Peralta - Sitting SundayPeralta is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.
ImpactBarring a pinch-hit appearance off the bench, Peralta will put his four-game hitting streak on pause while he checks out of the starting nine. Pavin Smith will fill in for Peralta in left field.
