ImpactSano is recovering from left knee inflammation, an injury which has kept him on the shelf for the entirety of May. He will eventually move up to a higher affiliate as he works his way back to the Angels' active roster. Sano was getting regular playing time before getting hurt and that should continue when he returns, especially with all the injuries the Halos are dealing with.

Hunter Brown - Quality start in Wednesday's lossBrown (1-5) took the loss Wednesday, giving up two runs on two hits and three walks over six innings in a 2-1 loss to the Angels. He struck out three.
ImpactThe right-hander put together arguably his best start of the season and made only one real mistake, but a fifth-inning sinker got too much of the plate and Kyren Paris drove it out of the park to left-center field for a two-run homer. It was only Brown's second quality start of the year, and he's served up nine home runs in just 43.1 innings, fueling a 7.06 ERA. With Ronel Blanco (suspension) rejoining the rotation this weekend and Jose Urquidy (forearm) likely not far behind in his return, it's not clear when Brown might make his next trip to the mound.

ImpactThe 22-year-old gave the Angels all the offense they would need on the afternoon when he took Hunter Brown deep in the fifth inning. It was Paris' first career big-league homer in his 26th game, and while power isn't a big part of his game, he did slug 14 home runs in 113 contests for Double-A Rocket City in 2023. Paris got the start at second base Wednesday but slid over to shortstop, and he could be looking at a longer run at the latter position if Zach Neto (elbow) winds up missing significant time.

Luis García - Notches third saveGarcia struck out two in a perfect ninth inning Wednesday to record his third save of the season in a 2-1 win over the Astros.
ImpactCarlos Estevez had pitched both of the prior two days, giving up a run each time, so Angels manager Ron Washington turned to Garcia to wrap things up. The 37-year-old right-hander has never collected more than three saves in a season and his 5.06 ERA doesn't suggest he'll remain a reliable high-leverage option, but for now he seems to be the next man up when Estevez isn't available.
