ImpactAll three hits were singles, but he still extended his current hitting streak to five games, a stretch during which he's gone 11-for-20 (.550). On the season, Olson is batting .297 with with 18 homers and 48 RBI through 63 contests, putting him firmly on pace for a career-best campaign.

Ramón Laureano - Goes yard in returnLaureano went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 8-4 win over the Angels.
ImpactOakland staked the opposition to an early 4-0 lead, but Laureano started the comeback by taking Griffin Canning deep in the fourth inning. It was a strong return to action for the outfielder, who'd been out since May 27 with a hip injury. On the season, Laureano's hitting .255 with 12 homers, eight steals, 23 RBI and 31 runs through 49 games.

Cole Irvin - Escapes with no-decisionIrvin didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 8-4 win over the Angels, giving up four runs on nine hits and two walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out two.
ImpactAll the damage against the southpaw came in the first two innings, but Irvin settled down and gave the A's a chance to mount a comeback. Unfortunately that rally came in the bottom of the sixth, after he was no longer the pitcher of record for Oakland. Irvin will take a 3.89 ERA and 56:14 K:BB through 81 innings into his next outing.

ImpactHis second-inning blast off Cole Irvin was Ohtani's 19th homer of the year, while his fifth-inning steal was his 10th. The 26-year-old is now the fourth player in MLB and the first in the AL to reach double digits in both categories, joining Ronald Acuna, Fernando Tatis and Trea Turner.
