ImpactSandoval has previously made three starts for Los Angeles this season, including one last Thursday against Oakland. The young southpaw turned in the best outings of his young career versus the Athletics, tossing five shutout innings while allowing seven baserunners and striking out four. The Angels haven't outlined their full pitching schedule for the upcoming week, but Sandoval will presumably make his next start during the Angels' four-game series versus Seattle over the weekend.

José Quijada - Coming up from minorsThe Angels recalled Quijada from Triple-A Salt Lake ahead of Monday's game against the Giants.
ImpactHe'll join the Angels as a replacement on the active roster for starter Jose Quintana (shoulder), who was placed on the 10-day injured list. According to Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register, Patrick Sandoval will enter the six-man rotation in Quintana's stead, so Quijada will fill a bullpen role while he's up with the big club.

José Quintana - Moves to ILThe Angels placed Quintana (shoulder) on the 10-day injured list Monday.
ImpactWhile Quintana's inflamed left shoulder relegates him to the shelf, manager Joe Maddon said Patrick Sandoval is the most likely candidate to fill the lefty's spot in the six-man rotation, according to Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register. Though Quintana has posted a career-best 13.4 K/9 over his nine starts, his command and control has disappeared in his age-32 campaign. Quintana sits on a 7.22 ERA, 1.93 WHIP and 7.0 BB/9 through 33.2 innings.

Kean Wong - Draws third straight startWong will start at second base and bat second Monday against the Giants, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.
ImpactWong will stick in the lineup for the third game in a row after he went 1-for-7 with a double while starting at second base in both of the previous two contests. He looks like he may have a clear path to regular reps in the middle infield while Jose Iglesias (hamstring) is on the shelf.

Juan Lagares - Resting on Memorial DayLagares is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Giants, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.
ImpactTaylor Ward will shift over to center field in place of Lagares, while Jose Rojas cracks the starting nine in right field. Lagares had started in each of the Angels' last 11 games, going 11-for-38 with seven runs and four RBI.

Shohei Ohtani - Sits in NL parkOhtani is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Giants, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.
ImpactThe Angels won't have the designated hitter available for their two-game set in San Francisco, so Ohtani will be on the bench Monday, and most likely Tuesday as well. Manager Joe Maddon suggested Ohtani could come off the bench as a pinch-hitter and possibly play a couple innings in the outfield late in the contest if the Angels need his powerful bat in the lineup.
