Dodgers News: Dave Roberts Confirms Max Muncy Left Tuesday's Game With Minor Injury A Muncy injury is the last thing the Dodgers need.
Collapses in ninth Ferguson (3-1) took a blown save and a loss Tuesday against the Reds, allowing three runs on one hit and three walks while getting through just a third of an inning.
Impact Ferguson was called upon to protect a two-run lead in the ninth after Brusdar Graterol and Evan Phillps worked the seventh and eighth innings, respectively. He quickly got himself into some major trouble, allowing a single, walking three and hitting a batter before being replaced by Shelby Miller with the game tied up. Miller tossed two pitches and the Reds walked it off with a hit from Matt McLain. Ferguson has now given up six runs over his last three innings pitched. Prior to May 27, he had given up just two runs all year over 18.1 innings. He is still the team's top left-handed pitching option but may have lost his chance at a ninth-inning role for the near future.

Bullpen spoils win Tuesday Gonsolin went five innings Tuesday against the Reds, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits and three walks while striking out five.
Impact The Reds chased Gonsolin for three runs in the opening frame off three singles, a walk and a hit batsman. Gonsolin settled in thereafter, pitching three scoreless innings before the Reds tacked on an additional run in the fifth on a throwing error. He departed with a four run lead, which wound up being blown by the Dodgers' bullpen. The 29-year-old has a 2.21 ERA and 0.98 WHIP across eight starts thus far, however, he owns a subpar 30:16 K:BB over 40.2 innings and his 4.48 FIP suggests there's been some luck on his side. Still, he's allowed three earned runs or less in every start this year, although he's only reached six innings twice. He'll line up to take the mound again next week in a home matchup against the White Sox.

Swipes bag in loss Vargas went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Tuesday's loss to the Reds.
Impact Vargas walked and stole his third base of the year in the sixth and later notched a base hit in the eighth. The 23-year-old has recorded a hit in each of his first four games in June and also has a 3:3 BB:K over that span. Vargas has endured growing pains over the course of his first full MLB season but will continue to see the lion's share of starts at second base. He's slashing .228/.333/.413 with five homers, 26 RBI, 28 runs and a 28:43 BB:K over 216 plate appearances.

Goes yard again Tuesday Martinez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two RBI in Tuesday's loss to the Reds.
Impact Martinez kicked off the fourth with a solo homer to left and tacked on an additional RBI with a sacrifice fly. Dating back to May 15, the 35-year-old has notched a hit in 18-of-19 games and is slashing .321/.333/.769 with 10 homers, 25 RBI and 15 runs scored over that span. He sits at 15 home runs and 43 RBI through 45 games this season after having just 16 homers and 62 RBI in 139 games for Boston a season ago. It's unlikely he sustains his recent pace at the plate, but Martinez has certainly looked comfortable in his first year as a Dodger thus far.
