ImpactLos Angeles optioned reliever Jake Reed to Triple-A Oklahoma City to open up a spot on the 26-man roster for Gonzalez, who missed two weeks with the left foot injury. Prior to being sidelined, Gonzalez had been serving as a key part of the bridge to closer Kenley Jansen. Over 36 appearances out of the Dodgers bullpen, Gonzalez has collected three wins, 16 holds and one save while posting a 2.57 ERA.

ImpactThe veteran closer's first chance for a save in the second half of the season didn't go well, as Jansen yielded a double and a single to allow the tying run to cross the plate. The blown save was just his third of the campaign in 24 chances.
