Justin Bruihl - Secures one-out saveBruihl retired the only batter he faced to earn the save in Sunday's 4-3 extra-inning win over the Giants.
ImpactAndre Jackson was initially given the save chance with a two-run lead, but he allowed three of the five batters he faced to reach base. He left the game with the bases loaded, and Bruihl was able to get LaMonte Wade on a groundout to end the contest. The save was Bruihl's first in his major-league career, and his first at any level since 2019 when he logged two saves in Single-A. The Dodgers used seven relievers in this contest, with regular closer Craig Kimbrel pitching the ninth inning, so Bruihl shouldn't be expected to see many additional closing chances. He's given up two runs across four innings in four appearances since he was called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City earlier this month.

Craig Kimbrel - Snags win SundayKimbrel (5-6) earned the extra-inning win over the Giants on Sunday, pitching a perfect inning with one strikeout.
ImpactKimbrel worked the ninth inning to keep the game tied, and the Dodgers took the lead in the 10th. The right-hander hadn't pitched since blowing a save Wednesday versus the Diamondbacks, but it appears that outing was a speed bump and the not the start of another slump. Kimbrel has a 3.96 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 64:22 K:BB through 52.1 innings while adding 22 saves in 27 chances.

Andrew Heaney - Strikes out eight in no-decisionHeaney allowed two hits and a walk while striking out eight over four scoreless innings versus the Giants on Sunday. He did not factor into the decision.
ImpactHeaney threw just 65 pitches (44 strikes) in the outing, which was his shortest since Aug. 13. Despite the short start, he was able to tally eight strikes for the fifth time in his last six starts, and he kept runs off the board for the first time since July 27. The southpaw now has a 2.66 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 92:16 K:BB through 61 innings across 13 starts this season. He's projected for a home start versus the Cardinals in his next start.
