ImpactPrice didn't seem at all concerned about the early elbow pain, which he indicated he gets every year after beginning to throw. However, this gives some perspective about why the veteran southpaw hasn't built up enough to begin the season as a starter after the team previously suggested he was in contention for a rotation spot. Price stated that he feels good now, and he was effective in his spring debut Wednesday, striking out two in a scoreless inning. Per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, the team is still deciding whether Price will be used as a multi-inning option or as a single-inning pitcher this season.

Craig Kimbrel - Confirmed as Dodgers' closerKimbrel was confirmed as the Dodgers' closer by general manager Brandon Gomes on Friday, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.
ImpactThe Dodgers intended to go with a committee approach prior to acquiring Kimbrel from the White Sox, and it was at least conceivable that the plan was merely to use Kimbrel as part of that committee. While Kimbrel's 2021 numbers were comparable to those of top incumbent Blake Treinen, he's clearly more comfortable in a traditional closer role. He'll return to that spot after spending the end of last year setting up for Liam Hendriks.
