Lands with Yankees Trivino and Frankie Montas were traded from the A's to the Yankees on Monday, Jack Curry of YES Network reports.

Impact It remains to be seen who is headed to Oakland in exchange for the two pitchers, but Trivino is set to finish the campaign with the Yankees. Southpaw A.J. Puk and righty Zach Jackson are arguably the best healthy options remaining on the Oakland depth chart, though Dany Jimenez (shoulder) also appears close to rejoining the active roster.

Impact After allowing three runs in his last two appearances, an uneventful save conversion was just what Trivino needed. The 30-year-old right-hander has gone 6-for-7 in save chances while adding one hold in 11 outings in July, allowing six runs in 9.2 innings. For the season, he has a 6.68 ERA, 1.94 WHIP and 43:14 K:BB through 31 frames. He's 10-for-12 in save chances this year, but his shaky ratios make him difficult to trust in fantasy.

Impact Trivino entered in the ninth inning with Oakland holding a three-run lead, and he gave up a one-out solo homer to Chas McCormick. Things continued to get dicey from there, as two of the next three batters singled to put the tying run on base. However, the right-hander struck out Jeremy Pena to end the game and notch his ninth save. Trivino hasn't exactly been a pillar of consistency -- he allowed five earned runs over his past 5.2 innings -- but with seven saves in eight chances since June 25, he has been able to hold down the closer's role for the Athletics.

Trivino is arguably the weakest pitcher who regularly closes games at the major-league level and his days in the closer role could be numbered. The 30-year-old veteran has an abysmal 6.83 ERA this season and could be replaced by Puk if Athletics manager Mark Kotsay feels he has seen enough.

Since Dany Jimenez (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day injured list, Trivino has been solid in the closer role, going 6-for-7 in save chances with a 2.79 ERA and an 11:4 K:BB in 9.2 innings despite allowing 18 baserunners in that span. Jimenez struggled mightily before his injury and has yet to begin a rehab assignment, so Trivino could continue to get save chances after the All-Star break.
