Impact Voit is in the midst of his third stint on the injured list this season, this time due to a bone bruise and inflammation in his left knee. Though Voit could be tracking toward a return from the IL by next weekend or the week after, the Yankees don't appear to be counting on him reclaiming an everyday role at first base, after the team shipped out two highly regarded prospects to the Cubs on Thursday to acquire Anthony Rizzo. With Rizzo off to a red-hot start to his tenure with the Yankees and with Giancarlo Stanton locked in as the team's regular designated hitter, Voit may need one of the two to miss time with an injury before regaining meaningful at-bats.
