Starting playoff opener Giolito will start Game 1 of the AL Wild Card Series on Tuesday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
Impact The 26-year-old made his final start of the regular season Wednesday and will start Game 1 on Tuesday in the White Sox's first playoff game since 2008. Giolito maded 12 starts and finished the regular season with a 3.48 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 97:28 K:BB over 72.1 innings.

Impact Giolito was locked into a pitcher's duel, as Shane Bieber and Triston McKenzie combined for seven innings without allowing an earned run. Impact Unfortunately for Giolito, two of the three hits he allowed left the yard. He gave up a solo shot to Eddie Rosario in the second inning and a two-run blast to Byron Buxton in the fourth. Meanwhile, the White Sox offense mustered just two hits all game. Giolito has a solid 3.53 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 86 strikeouts across 66.1 innings this season. He'll look to get back on track Monday in Cleveland.

Impact Giolito's stat line from Friday's outing looks a lot worse than it actually was. He wasn't particularly efficient outing, needing 114 pitches to get through 5.2 innings, but he took a one-hit shutout into the sixth inning before running into some trouble. Giolito surrendered a leadoff single to Jonathan Schoop before walking the next two batters to load the bases. Jorge Bonifacio was able to drive in the first run with a sacrifice fly and then Daz Cameron hit a two-run single to right, forcing Rick Renteria to pull the right-hander. Giolito will take a 3.43 ERA and 1.03 WHIP into his next outing against the Twins on Wednesday.

Picks up fourth win Giolito (4-2) allowed three runs on five hits (one home run) and did not walk a batter. He struck out nine across six innings Saturday as he earned his fourth win of the season.
Impact Giolito had a solid outing Saturday after he was roughed up in his previous start. The right-hander allowed a solo shot to Bubba Starling in the third and then was eventually replaced in the seventh after surrendering back-to-back hits to begin the frame. Giolito is currently second in the majors with 75 strikeouts as he has fanned at least eight batters in each of his last four starts. The 26-year-old is scheduled next to take the mound Saturday in what should be a favorable matchup with the Tigers.
