Cleared from protocols Garcia (undisclosed) was cleared from the health and safety protocols Thursday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Impact Garcia was away from the team for nearly a week after being placed in the health and safety protocols. However, manager Dusty Baker told reporters that every player besides Pedro Baez (COVID-19) has returned to the team after quarantining. Garcia will be fighting for a roster spot for the remainder of spring training, though the addition of Jake Odorizzi will make his path more difficult.

Away from team Garcia will be away from camp for "several days" due to the league's health and safety protocols, Jake Kaplan of The Athletic reports.

Impact Garcia had been scheduled to pitch in Thursday's spring game behind Lance McCullers, but he'll no longer be able to do so. Once he's able to return, the right-hander should compete for a spot in the starting rotation after Framber Valdez suffered a fractured left ring finger Tuesday.
