Let go by Houston Guillorme was released by the Astros on Tuesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Impact Guillorme signed a minor-league contract with Houston on July 30, his second minor-league deal with the team in 2025, but he will now become a free agent again. The 30-year-old posted a .247 average with two home runs, 23 RBI, 25 runs scored and three stolen bases over 215 at-bats in 62 games with Triple-A Sugar Land this year.

Back with Astros The Astros signed Guillorme to a minor-league contract Wednesday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Impact The veteran infielder elected free agency earlier in the week after being outrighted by Houston, but he's back in the organization on a new deal. After being called up by the Astros in mid-June, Guillorme went 3-for-20 in 12 games before going down with a hamstring injury a few weeks later.

Bound for free agency Guillorme (hamstring) elected free agency Monday after the Astros activated him from the 10-day injured list and outrighted him off the 40-man roster.

Impact Guillorme had been on the shelf since July 2 due to a right hamstring strain, but he's healthy again after completing a two-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Sugar Land last week. The Astros didn't have a spot available for Guillorme on the 26-man active roster, and after he went unclaimed off waivers, he'll now have the ability to choose his next destination. Before getting hurt, the 30-year-old utility infielder had appeared in 12 games for Houston and went 3-for-20 with a walk and two runs.
