Impact Rengifo will stick in the starting nine for the fourth consecutive game, with the 26-year-old garnering three turns at second base and one in right field over that stretch. The Angels still appear to be viewing Rengifo as more of a utility player, but his defensive flexibility and ability to switch-hit should afford him multiple starts per week.

Impact Rengifo was the biggest producer on a day when the Angels pounded out a season-high 16 hits. The utility man gave Los Angeles its first lead with a three-run homer in the second inning and added another RBI with a sacrifice fly in the fourth. This was Rengifo's first three-hit game of the campaign and his first multi-hit performance since April 10.

Impact Rengifo started in right field in Thursday's Cactus League contest against Kansas City and was charged with a throwing error in the fourth inning. He's not a complete stranger to the position -- he logged 103 innings there between 2021 and 2022 -- but hasn't shown great acumen for the outfield thus far. The Angels' infield is much more crowded this year with the additions of Brandon Drury and Gio Urshela as well as the return to health of both Anthony Rendon and David Fletcher, so Rengifo could help himself see more at-bats if he's able to gain the team's confidence as a capable outfielder.
