Minnesota declines option The Twins have declined their side of Margot's $12 million mutual option for 2025, Darren Wolfson of Channel 5 Saint Paul reports.
Impact He'll receive a $2 million buyout instead and hit the free-agent market. Margot, 30, slashed only .238/.289/.337 with four home runs and five stolen bases over 129 contests during his lone season in Minnesota.

Activated from injured list The Twins activated Margot (adductor) from the 10-day injured list Wednesday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
Impact Margot required just a minimum 10-day absence while recovering from a mild right adductor strain. He did not play any rehab games, evidently showing enough in workouts to convince the Twins he was ready to rejoin the active roster.

Impact It's probably a best-case scenario, but a timetable for Margot's return won't be available at least until he's re-evaluated later this week. Margot was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday and is eligible for activation Sept. 11.

Impact Margot underwent an MRI after suffering the groin injury in Saturday's 15-0 loss to the Blue Jays, but since the results of those tests haven't been made public, an exact timeline for the outfielder's return isn't known. The 29-year-old has cobbled together a mediocre .250/.302/.350 slash line with four home runs and five steals over 306 plate appearances while mostly serving as a short-side platoon player this season, so his upcoming absence shouldn't have many ramifications in fantasy baseball.
