Placed on COVID-19 IL Canha (illness) was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Friday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Impact Canha tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday as part of an outbreak in the team's clubhouse. He's asymptomatic and will be able to rejoin the team as soon as he tests negative. Nick Plummer and Matt Reynolds were recalled to provide depth while Canha and Brandon Nimmo (illness) are unavailable.

Impact Canha isn't starting Friday's game against the Diamondbacks and will need to isolate from the team following his positive test. He's not experiencing symptoms, but it's not yet clear when he'll be able to return. Dominic Smith and J.D. Davis should see an uptick in playing time while Canha is unavailable.
