Belts three-run homer Schuemann went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run, an additional run and a walk in Saturday's 19-8 rout of Baltimore.

Impact Schuemann mashed Oakland's second three-run homer of the game in the second inning to give the A's an early 6-0 lead. It was his second long ball over his past four contests following a 27-game stretch in which he failed to go deep. Schuemann's multi-hit performance Saturday was his first since June 1, a span of 27 games.

Impact Schuemann jumped on a hanging slider from Davis Daniel in the bottom of the fifth and sent it into the stands in left field for his fourth home run of the campaign. The shortstop has now hit safely in four of his last five games while also driving in at least one run in three of those outings. On the downside, Schuemann has also struck out twice in five of his last eight contests.

Impact Schuemann has a steal in two of his last three games, though he's hitting a meager .149 (7-for-47) over his last 15 contests. He's maintained a starting role at shortstop, though his .227/.316/.315 slash line for the year is far from impressive. He's added three home runs, 15 RBI, 26 runs scored and six thefts across 63 games. Armando Alvarez is Schuemann's biggest threat for playing time until Darell Hernaiz (ankle) can return, which is likely to be after the All-Star break.

Taking seat Sunday Schuemann is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Impact Schuemann has gone 5-for-41 (.122 average) with a 32.1 percent strikeout rate in his past 13 games and will sit for Sunday's series finale in Arizona. Aledmys Diaz will take over at shortstop and bat ninth.

Impact Schuemann's fifth-inning blast off of Logan Allen represented his first major-league hit and home run. He also added the first stolen base of his career later in the game after reaching on a walk. Schuemann was making his third start at a third different position (third base) Saturday and all three starts have come against lefties. He's unlikely to make a fantasy impact.

Impact The 26-year-old boasts a diverse offensive resume that includes 14 doubles, two triples, six homers, 29 RBI and 11 stolen bases over 256 plate appearances. Schuemann put together solid offensive stints at Double-A Midland in 2021 and 2022 as well, and although the hitter-friendly environment of the Pacific Coast League is undoubtedly helping boost his current numbers, it's certainly possible he's deemed worthy of a promotion to the big-league club before season's end.
