Impact Edwards first suffered a right shoulder impingement back in 2022 and had resigned himself to having to throw through discomfort. However, after working with Marlins director of catching Maxx Garrett on a new throwing program, Edwards said "it's not bothering me to throw at all" anymore. The shoulder issue didn't seem to impact Edwards at the plate in 2024, as he slashed .328/.397/.423 with one homer and 31 stolen bases in 70 games for the Marlins. However, being free and easy in all phases of his game can only help the 25-year-old's prospects heading into 2025.

Agrees to deal with Miami The Marlins and Sanchez avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year contract Thursday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Impact Sanchez was in his first year of arbitration eligibility. The 27-year-old slashed .252/.313/.417with career highs in home runs (18) and stolen bases (16) in 2024.

Impact Garrett avoids an arbitration hearing in his first year of eligibility. He did not, however, avoid elbow surgery, as he underwent a UCL revision surgery with an internal brace last month that will sideline him for the entirety of the 2025 season.

Out for 2025 after UCL surgery Garrett will miss the 2025 season after undergoing UCL revision surgery with an internal brace in December, Craig Mish of the Miami Herald reports.

Impact Garrett made just seven starts for the Marlins during the 2025 season due to forearm and elbow problems and his UCL finally gave out. The left-hander had Tommy John surgery previously, so while the December operation was less invasive, it will still be a very lengthy rehab. If all goes well, it's possible Garrett is ready for the start of the 2026 season.

Impact Weathers has a high insulin resistance but has been able to drop weight over the winter while following a Keto diet. The left-hander missed three months during the 2024 season due to a left index finger strain, but he pitched well when on the mound in collecting a 3.63 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 80:24 K:BB over 86.2 frames. Weathers ended the season healthy and will have some deep-league fantasy appeal in 2025, although wins could be difficult to come by on the Marlins.

Impact Tarnok appeared in 21 games between Triple-A Las Vegas and Triple-A Lehigh Valley in 2024, producing an 8.16 ERA with 34 strikeouts over 28.2 innings.
