Isan Diaz - Pops fourth homer Diaz went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's 12-2 loss to Atlanta.
Impact He took Touki Toussaint deep in the second inning to give Miami a 2-1 lead, but the game was all Atlanta after that. Diaz has been spotting into the lineup fairly regularly in August and hasn't squandered the opportunities, slashing .268/.302/.488 through 43 plate appearances with two of his four homers on the year.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. - Socks 13th homer Chisholm went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 12-2 loss to Atlanta.
Impact He led off the bottom of the first inning with his 13th homer of the year, but things went south for the Marlins soon afterward. Chisholm's inability to stay in the lineup -- he's played in 83 of Miami's 119 games -- has prevented him from recapturing his dazzling early-season form, but the 23-year-old may be heating up again, going 4-for-12 over the last three games with two home runs and a double. On the downside, he hasn't stolen a base yet since the All-Star break, getting thrown out on his only two attempts.

Braxton Garrett - Can't find plate Monday Garrett (1-2) took the loss Monday as the Marlins were routed 12-2 by Atlanta, giving up three runs on three hits and six walks over three-plus innings. He struck out two.
Impact The 24-year-old southpaw got staked to an early 2-1 lead but his inability to get the ball over the plate quickly led to disaster, as Garrett managed to toss only 39 of 77 pitches for strikes before getting the hook. Trevor Rogers (personal) remains without a timeline to return to the Marlins and Pablo Lopez (shoulder) is only throwing bullpen sessions, but Garrett's 5.03 ERA, 1.82 WHIP and 32:20 K:BB through 34 innings aren't making a strong case for him to stay in the rotation much longer.

Impact It was Hernandez's third MLB appearance this season and first since June 3 after his second stint on the 60-day injured list. He showed no signs of rust, cruising through five shutout innings to begin the game. The only blemish on his outing was a solo shot off the bat of Frank Schwindel in the sixth. It's been a small sample size, but Hernandez has impressed this season with a 2.84 ERA and a 13:1 K:BB over 12.2 frames. He's projected to take the mound in Cincinnati next week.
