Impact Panik's playing time looked to be on the upswing in the middle of July, but even with the Marlins moving a few other veterans ahead of Friday's trade deadline, the 30-year-old hasn't been able to capture an everyday role. He'll be on the bench for a fifth straight game.

Magneuris Sierra - Filling everyday role Sierra will start in center field and bat eighth Sunday against the Yankees, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Impact Sierra went 6-for-19 with a double and a walk while starting each of the past five games for Miami. Following the trade of Starling Marte to the Athletics and Adam Duvall to Atlanta, Sierra appears to have locked down an everyday role in the outfield. The steady at-bats should be enough to give Sierra value in NL-only leagues, but his .576 OPS on the season makes him less palatable in mixed leagues.

David Hess - Takes loss in relief Saturday Hess (2-1) was tagged with the relief loss Saturday against the Yankees after allowing one run on one hit and two walks across one inning, striking out two.

Impact Hess closed things out in the fourth but was unable to slam the door on the fifth inning, as he was lifted right after intentionally walking David Hess to load the bases with two outs. The 28-year-old right-hander hasn't looked at his best since getting traded to the Marlins in early July, posting a 5.27 ERA with a 13:8 K:BB across 13.2 innings (nine outings).

Trevor Rogers - No-decision in return Rogers didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Yankees after allowing two runs on five hits and three walks across 3.2 innings, striking out four.

Impact Rogers didn't have his best stuff in this one but was lucky to come away with the no-decision, as he hurled his shortest outing of the entire campaign -- though that was a wise decision considering his pitch count was already approaching 80 pitches and he had suffered from back spasms earlier this month. The southpaw still has an excellent 2.45 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP to go along with a 129:40 K:BB across 110 innings (20 starts) on the season.

Sean Guenther - Contract selected by Miami Guenther had his contract selected by the Marlins on Sunday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Impact Guenther has split the season between Double-A Pensacola and Triple-A Jacksonville, and he'll now receive his first taste of the big leagues. The 25-year-old posted a 1.02 ERA and 26:3 K:BB over 17.2 frames at Double-A, but he's struggled since being promoted to Triple-A with a 4.76 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 28:4 K:BB across 22.2 innings.

Lewin Díaz - Returns to minors Diaz was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Impact The 24-year-old was promoted to the majors Tuesday and appeared in four games during his brief time on the team, going 2-for-13 with a home run, two walks, two RBI and two runs. Even if he returns to the big leagues, Diaz is unlikely to see much playing time this season while first baseman Jesus Aguilar remains healthy.
