Nick Gordon - Moving off 40-man rosterThe Marlins will designate Gordon for assignment Monday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.ImpactGordon had taken back a near-everyday role in the Miami outfield toward the end of July, but he failed to do much with the more consistent playing time. He had submitted a lowly .449 OPS since the All-Star break and had not fared much better on the season, producing a .227/.258/.369 slash line across 275 plate appearances. Since he has the ability to play multiple outfield and infield spots and is under contract at an affordable $900,000 salary, Gordon could draw some interest on the waiver wire from teams looking to bolster their bench, but he's unlikely to see regular at-bats no matter where lands.
