Jesús Sánchez - Expected to return TuesdaySanchez (hamstring) is expected to appear in his final rehab game Sunday and return to Miami on Tuesday for the Marlins' series against the Padres, Kevin Barral of Fish On First r...
ImpactAssuming he does return Tuesday for the Marlins, Sanchez will end up missing just a little over two weeks while recovering from his hamstring strain. The outfielder will assuredly be a regular in right field once back with the club, and he's hit .290 with a .914 OPS in his 69 at-bats over 29 games.

Michael Stefanic - Sporting season-long on-base streakStefanic is slashing .331/.438/.416 through 42 games this season with Triple-A Salt Lake, and he's reached base in every contest in which he's played.
ImpactStefanic's on-base streak is actually at 51 extending back to last season, when he hit .314 with a .422 on-base percentage for the Triple-A club. The 27-year-old has proven to be a difficult out with a .401 career OBP across 364 career minor-league contests, though he struggled in his first taste of the majors last year, slashing .197/.279/.230 over 69 plate appearances. Stefanic's ability to reach base could earn him another chance in the big leagues at some point, but his absence of power and speed limit his appeal as a future fantasy asset.

Anthony Rendon - Not yet taking groundersRendon (groin) did some outdoor work Saturday, but he hasn't yet started fielding grounders, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.
ImpactIt's the second straight day that Rendon has worked on the field, though Blum noted Friday that the third baseman still has "no specific timeline" for a return. The third baseman is expected to travel with the Angels on their trip to Chicago that starts Monday, and he may begin fielding groundballs then. It's possible that Rendon could be activated by the end of that series, but an early-June activation seems more feasible.

Jean Segura - Out Saturday vs. AngelsSegura is out of the starting lineup against the Angels on Saturday.
ImpactSegura has not had much success in the month of May with a slash of .190/.301/.238, and he'll get a breather against Shohei Ohtani and the Angels in the middle game of the series. Jon Berti will man the hot corner and hit seventh against Ohtani and the Los Angeles pitching staff.

Garrett Cooper - Gets breather SaturdayCooper is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Angels.
ImpactCooper will get a breather after going 1-for-5 with a run scored against the Angels on Friday. Yuli Gurriel will get the start at first base and hit fifth in Cooper's absence.

Nick Fortes - Out of lineupFortes is out of the lineup for Saturday's contest against the Angels.
ImpactFortes has picked up multiple hits in two of his last three starts, but he'll take a seat against Shohei Ohtani and the Angels on Saturday. Jacob Stallings will get the start behind the plate and hit eighth.

Sam Bachman - Fans four in big-league debutBachman tossed two innings against Miami on Friday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks while striking out four batters.
ImpactIt was a mixed bag for Bachman in his first major-league outing -- he threw just 26 of 47 pitches for a strike and allowed three baserunners in each of his two frames, though the Marlins posted only one run on him. The right-hander also impressed with four punchouts while throwing his fastball in the high-90s. Bachman started in all 23 of his minor-league appearances after being a first-round draft pick by the Angels in 2021, but he's expected to work out of the bullpen during his initial stint in the majors.
