Bryan De La Cruz - Demoted to Triple-ADe La Cruz was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

ImpactDe La Cruz has recently been playing an everyday role in the outfield for Miami, but he'll head to the minors with .483 OPS in 17 games since the All-Star break. Overall this season the 25-year-old has a .205/.249/.332 slash line in 261 plate appearances as he's failed to replicate his .296 average from 2021.

Brian Anderson - Activated by MarlinsAnderson (shoulder) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Friday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

ImpactAnderson spent just under three weeks on the injured list but recently began a rehab assignment at Triple-A Jacksonville and went 5-for-16 with two home runs, two doubles, four runs, a walk and five strikeouts. He could serve as the Marlins' primary third baseman now that he's back to full health, but given that Charles Leblanc has been hitting extremely well in his place, Anderson might see significant action in an outfield corner instead.

Jon Berti - Returns from injured listBerti (groin) was activated from the 10-day injured list Friday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

ImpactThe 32-year-old has been sidelined for nearly a month by the groin strain, but he's back with the big-league club after going 1-for-14 during a four-game rehab stint with Triple-A Jacksonville. Berti has a .271/.365/.375 slash line with two home runs and 19 RBI in 58 games this season, and even after the absence he still leads the league with 28 stolen bases while being caught only three times. Joey Wendle has settled in as Miami's primary second baseman, but Berti should still see regular playing time between the infield and outfield thanks to his versatility.

Kyle Schwarber - Unavailable FridaySchwarber (calf) is not in the starting lineup Friday versus the Mets.

ImpactSchwarber is a no-go after he left Thursday's contest with a mild right calf strain. The injury won't likely require a stint on the injured list, but it's possible that he misses a few games while nursing the issue. Matt Vierling will take over in left field Friday and bat ninth against New York.
