Ross Detwiler - Opening again MondayDetwiler will start Monday's game at Washington, Ethan Budowsky of SB Nation reports.

ImpactThe veteran southpaw will make his fifth start of the season with manager Don Mattingly employing another bullpen day versus the Nationals. Detwiler has covered more than two frames in only three appearances this year, so he'll likely only pitch an inning or two as Monday's opener.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. - Bound for injured listChisholm (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday, Craig Mish of SportsGrid.com reports.

ImpactChisholm exited Sunday's game against the Phillies in pain after injuring his shoulder on a diving catch attempt. His X-rays were negative, but he underwent an MRI on Monday which evidently revealed an injury serious enough to keep him out for at least 10 days. Whether he'll need to miss an extended period beyond that point is not yet clear. Joe Panik and Isan Diaz could see increased playing time at second base in his absence.

Griffin Conine - Moves up to Double-AThe Marlins promoted Conine from High-A Beloit to Double-A Pensacola on Sunday, Aram Leighton of JustBaseball.com reports.

ImpactConine will get a tougher test after he clubbed a minor-league leading 23 home runs over 66 games at Beloit. The power production came with a dismal 35.8 percent strikeout rate, however, and the lack of consistent contact coupled with Conine's advanced age -- he turned 24 years old earlier this month -- limits his appeal in dynasty leagues.

Braxton Garrett - Demoted after spot startThe Marlins optioned Garrett to Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday.

ImpactMiami called Garrett up and designated him as its 27th man for Sunday's game against the Phillies, which was proceeded by a resumption of the contest Saturday that was suspended in the top of the 10th inning. Garrett drew his third start of the season for the Marlins in the series finale, working 4.1 innings and giving up three runs (two earned) en route to taking a no-decision in the 7-4 loss. Though the Marlins still have two open spots in the rotation with Pablo Lopez (shoulder) recently joining Cody Poteet (knee) on the injured list, Garrett apparently didn't impress enough to receive another turn this weekend versus the Padres. The Marlins would need to place another player on the IL in a corresponding move in order for Garrett to be eligible to rejoin the big club within 15 days.
