Joe Panik - Added to roster, starts WednesdayPanik was added to the 26-man roster Wednesday and drew the start at third base against the Phillies.
ImpactPanik was acquired from Toronto on Tuesday in a trade that sent Adam Cimber and Corey Dickerson the other way. He is in the starting lineup at third base Thursday and figures to see substantial time there until Brian Anderson (shoulder) is activated from the injured list.

Luis Marté - DFA'd by MiamiMarte was designated for assignment by the Marlins on Wednesday.
ImpactThe 27-year-old also lost his spot on the 40-man roster in early June, though he had his contract selected June 19 and has since been in the majors. Marte has made only four appearances in two stints with Miami this year, going 1-for-6 with a walk and two runs.

Jon Berti - Heads to benchBerti is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
ImpactBerti will head to the bench for the first time since June 5, ending a stretch of 21 consecutive starts. The 31-year-old provided only five extra-base knocks (three home runs, two doubles) during that stretch, but he batted .324 and posted a .405 on-base average. The newly acquired Joe Panik will enter the starting nine for the first time as a Marlin, but Berti should have some job security at the hot corner based on how he's performed in recent weeks.

Jesús Aguilar - Resting WednesdayAguilar is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
ImpactGarrett Cooper will pick up a start at first base in place of Aguilar, who will wrap up June with a .270/.313/.427 slash line if he isn't used off the bench Wednesday. Aguilar was in the lineup for each of the previous three games and still appears to be the Marlins' unquestioned top option at first base.

Jorge Alfaro - Heads to benchAlfaro is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
ImpactAfter striking out in all four of his plate appearances in Tuesday's 4-3 loss, Alfaro will get a day off to clear his head. Sandy Leon will draw the start behind the dish, but Alfaro still appears locked in as Miami's No.1 catcher. Alfaro had caught all but one of the Marlins' previous 11 contests.
