Jazz Chisholm Jr. - MRI comes back cleanChisholm, who is out of the lineup for Monday's game in Cincinnati, underwent an MRI that revealed no structural damage to his right hamstring, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald...
ImpactChisholm is on the bench for a second straight game with an injury that the Marlins classified as a right hamstring cramp, but the fact that he was sent in for an MRI at all probably means that a move to the injured list likely hasn't been ruled out. For now, the Marlins seem to be viewing Chisholm as day-to-day with the hope that he'll show enough improvement to make his return to the lineup at some point during the series in Cincinnati. McPherson notes that Chisholm was able to do some running on the field Monday and will continue to perform more baseball activities as tolerated.

Jesús Sánchez - Sitting again MondaySanchez is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Reds, according to Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald.
ImpactSanchez rarely starts against southpaws, so it should come as little surprise that he is being held out Monday with left-hander Brandon Williamson on the bump for Cincinnati.

Luis Arraez - Gets rare day offArraez is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Reds, according to Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald.
ImpactArraez hit .356 over his last 20 games and is riding a seven-game hitting streak, but he also has not rested since the All-Star break, and manager Skip Schumaker decided it was time for a day off. Jon Berti will man the keystone in Arraez's place.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. - Remains out of lineupChisholm (hamstring) is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Reds, according to Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald.
ImpactChisholm sat out Sunday after leaving with a hamstring cramp the day before, and he will open on the bench again Monday. Bryan De La Cruz will start in center field for the second time in as many days.
AUGUST 7, 2023ROTOWIRE
Devin Smeltzer - Remains in organizationSmeltzer cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
ImpactSmeltzer is no longer on the Marlins' 40-man roster but will remain in the organization. The left-hander has tossed three scoreless innings during his brief time with Miami in 2023.

Eury Pérez - Activated ahead of startThe Marlins recalled Perez from Double-A Pensacola ahead of his scheduled start Monday in Cincinnati, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
ImpactPerez is back in the big leagues and will make his first appearance since July 6 after the Marlins elected to stash him in the minors for the past month in an effort to limit his workload in his age-20 campaign. Per McPherson, Perez's start Monday is expected to be one of 10 the Marlins are tentatively planning on having him make over the rest of the season, provided Miami still remains in the thick of playoff contention by late September/early October. After turning a dazzling 2.36 ERA while striking out 61 batters over 53.1 innings over his first 11 big-league starts, Perez looks worthy of an immediate activation this week for any fantasy managers that had been holding him.

Geoff Hartlieb - Sent down to Triple-AHartlieb was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
ImpactHartlieb was with the big club for just one day, allowing one run in one inning of work. He's clearing out to make room for the return of Eury Perez.
