Those numbers don't jump off the page but they've been much needed on a Detroit pitching staff that has been decimated by injuries.

Tagged for five runs Monday Lorenzen allowed five runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five batters over 5.2 innings in a no-decision against Kansas City on Monday.

Impact Detroit gave Lorenzen a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but that was quickly erased when he surrendered three runs in the bottom of the frame. Those runs came by way of homers by Vinnie Pasquantino and Salvador Perez. Lorenzen settled down to hold the Royals scoreless between the second and fourth innings, but he served up another long ball -- a two-run shot by Jackie Bradley Jr. -- in the fifth. Impact Outside of the low strikeout total, Lorenzen was great, and he was able to earn his first win of the year as the Tigers provided eight runs of support. The righty missed the first three weeks of the season with a groin injury and now has a 5.14 ERA across four starts. He's tentatively lined up to take the mound again Monday against Cleveland.
