Impact Vargas should have his path to playing time clear in Chicago, where he could return to his more familiar second base after the Dodgers used him exclusively in the outfield this season. The 24-year-old carries just a .658 OPS over parts of three major-league seasons, but Vargas is a career .308/.396/.493 hitter during his time in the minors.
