Andrew McCutchen - Slugs two homers McCutchen went 2-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI and three runs scored Thursday against the Dodgers.

Impact McCutchen took Andrew Heaney yard on both occasions, bringing his homer total on the campaign to 13. Entering Thursday's game, McCutchen had just two homers and a .232 average across 22 games since the All-Star break. For the season, he owns a .253/.322/.406 line across 438 plate appearances.

Devin Williams - Records eighth save Williams struck out the side without allowing a baserunner to earn the save Thursday against the Dodgers.

Impact Williams entered the game with a two-run lead and had little trouble shutting the door on the Dodgers to earn his eighth save of the season. Impact Reetz was added to the Brewers' 40-man roster in early August, but he'll be designated for assignment after J.C. Mejia was reinstated from his suspension Thursday. It seems likely that Reetz will remain at Triple-A Nashville if he goes unclaimed on waivers.

J.C. Mejía - Reinstated, sent down Mejia (suspension) was reinstated from his rehab assignment and optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Thursday, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Impact Mejia had been sidelined since mid-May for violating the league's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program, but he was able to begin a rehab assignment in early August. The right-hander struck out four in 3.2 perfect innings over four rehab appearances but will remain in the minors now that his suspension has been served. According to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, as a result of the suspension, Mejia won't be eligible to pitch in the postseason if Milwaukee should qualify.

Impact Frelick went a perfect 4-for-4 in his last game Wednesday, and he now owns a robust .329 batting average both this season and in his two-year minor-league career. Due to a detail in the new CBA -- as outlined by Jim Goulart of BrewerFanatic.com -- the Brewers will not call him up prior to Aug. 23. However, the big-league club hasn't been getting much production in center field, and Frelick is capable of playing that spot, so it's not out of the question that he is summoned from Triple-A once the noted deadline passes.

Eric Lauer - Fades late in loss Lauer (8-5) took the loss against the Dodgers on Wednesday, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out seven batters over seven innings.

Impact Lauer allowed only one hit and didn't give up a run through five innings, but Austin Barnes and Max Muncy tagged him for solo homers in the sixth and seventh frames, respectively. That was enough to send the left-hander to his second straight loss despite the fact that he logged his third consecutive quality start. The fact that Lauer was done in by the long ball reflects his season as a whole -- he's posted a solid 3.58 ERA and 1.20 WHIP but has allowed 24 home runs, third-most in the majors.
