Impact Peterson didn't start Friday's game against the Rockies, and he's apparently dealing with an elbow issue that will keep him sidelined for at least another week. Since the move was backdated to July 20, the 32-year-old will be eligible to return as early as July 30. Mike Brosseau should serve as the primary backup at third base while Peterson is sidelined.

Aaron Ashby - Inks five-year deal with Brewers Ashby signed a five-year, $20.5 million contract with Milwaukee on Saturday that includes incentives and club options for 2028 and 2029.
Impact Much like the extension Freddy Peralta signed a couple years ago, this contract will provide Ashby some financial certainty and it presumably has team-friendly terms if Ashby pitches to his potential. The electric southpaw has had some high points and some struggles this season, but he is well rested after the break and is scheduled to start Monday at home against the Rockies.

Freddy Peralta - Starting rehab assignment Saturday Peralta (lat) will make his first rehab start with Triple-A Nashville on Saturday, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Impact There wasn't an exact workload disclosed, but manager Craig Counsell did say that Peralta would work multiple innings. He'll work on a starter schedule and will build up an inning per outing. Assuming no major setbacks, Peralta could return in mid-to-late August.

Impact The right-hander landed on the shelf May 22 with a right late strain, and he resumed a throwing program in mid-June.
