Rea leads the way as Brewers win 2-0 to complete sweep of Guardians in matchup of division leaders

Tyler Black - Absent from lineup again Black is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's contest against the Guardians.

Impact Since being recalled from Triple-A Nashville on Monday, Black has gone 1-for-11 over his last four major-league appearances. He'll begin Sunday's contest in the dugout while William Contrereas serves as the designated hitter for Sunday's series finale.

William Contreras - Lifts homer in win Contreras went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Guardians.

Impact Contreras kept his power up with his fourth homer over the last six games and his sixth long ball through 15 contests in August. The catcher is batting .304 (17-for-56) this month, a slight bit better than his impressive .284 mark for the year. He's up to 17 homers, 71 RBI, 80 runs scored, 32 doubles, five stolen bases and an .825 OPS through 119 games this season.

Devin Williams - Perfect inning for save Williams pitched a perfect inning to earn the save in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Guardians.

Impact Williams failed to log a strikeout for the first time in his seven appearances this season. It was still a tidy save for the right-hander, who got the heart of Cleveland's order out on three straight groundouts. Williams has allowed one run -- on a solo home run versus Atlanta on Aug. 7 -- while earning four saves and posting an 11:1 K:BB over seven innings. All of his saves have been over his last four appearances, including three over the last four days, so it's safe to say Williams is back to being locked in as Milwaukee's closer.

Freddy Peralta - Earns eighth win Peralta (8-7) allowed a run on four hits and two walks while striking out three over six innings to earn the win over the Guardians on Saturday.

Impact Peralta gave up a solo home run to Josh Naylor in the fourth inning, but that was the extent of the damage. The only downside to Peralta's performance was that he matched his season low for strikeouts. He's also given up eight homers over his last five starts. The right-hander is at a 4.00 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 162:51 K:BB through 137.1 innings over 25 starts this season. He's projected for a road start in Oakland in his next appearance.

Joel Payamps - Notches save Friday Payamps struck out one batter in a perfect inning to earn a save over the Guardians on Friday.

Impact Payamps was tasked with closing out the 5-3 contest and did so with ease, throwing nine of 14 pitches for strikes. It was his first save since July 26 and he's converted six of his eight chances this season. He's 2-0 with two saves, two holds and a 0.75 ERA over his last 12 innings. Payamps received the save opportunity Friday after Devin Williams pitched the previous two days and took the night off against Cleveland.

Aaron Civale - Tosses six shutout frames Civale (4-8) allowed four hits and a walk over six scoreless innings Friday, striking out four and earning a win over the Guardians.

Impact Civale turned in his first scoreless appearance of the season and never faced much trouble against a tricky Cleveland offense. He began his Brewers career 0-2 with a 5.40 ERA through five starts but has now strung together two straight wins with a pair of quality starts. Civale lowered his season ERA to 4.78 with a 117:40 K:BB through 24 starts with Tampa Bay and Milwaukee. His next outing is lined up to be in St. Louis.
