Frankie Montas - Traded to Milwaukee The Brewers acquired Montas from the Reds on Monday in exchange for outfielder Joey Wiemer, right-hander Jakob Junis and cash considerations, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports. Impact Montas will remain in the NL Central, heading to Milwaukee after compiling a 5.01 ERA and 1.44 WHIP with 78 strikeouts over 93.1 innings in 19 starts with the Reds this season. The right-hander has had a rough three-start run since July 10, allowing 16 runs over 16 innings, raising his ERA from 4.19 to 5.01. The Brewers have gotten the most out of their starters in 2024, and they'll look to help Montas recapture his form from 2021, a season in which he produced a 3.37 ERA with 207 strikeouts over 187 innings in 32 starts with the Athletics.
