Joey Ortiz - Hits injured list The Brewers placed Ortiz on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with neck inflammation, retroactive to Tuesday.

Impact Neck problems have caused Ortiz to be in and out of the Brewers' lineup over the past week, and he'll now officially be shut down in order to properly address the issue. Vinny Capra was recalled from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move, but Andruw Monasterio has been seeing regular time at third base when Ortiz sits and should continue to do so going forward.

Aaron Civale - Traded to Milwaukee The Rays agreed to trade Civale to the Brewers on Wednesday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

Impact The return for Tampa Bay was not immediately disclosed, but regardless it sounds like the first-place Brewers have found an arm to help stabilize the rotation. Civale has an ERA north of 5.00 through 17 starts this season, but his xFIP is almost a full run lower at 4.09. Shane Baz was scratched from his scheduled start for Triple-A Durham on Tuesday and appears a likely candidate to replace Civale in the Rays' rotation.

Dallas Keuchel - Solid showing at Coors Field Keuchel didn't factor in the decision for Tuesday's 4-3 win at Colorado after he allowed two runs on four hits and two walks across 5.1 innings. He struck out five.

Impact The veteran left-hander struggled in the second inning as he surrendered two runs on a homer, a triple and a sacrifice fly, but he otherwise kept the Rockies off the board. It was a nice rebound for Keuchel in a hitter-friendly park after he gave up five earned runs in his Brewers debut last week. He tentatively lines up for another tough matchup this weekend on the road versus the Dodgers.
