Sal Frelick - Two hits in win Frelick went 2-for-4 with a run scored in a 6-4 win against the Cubs on Thursday.

Impact Frelick singled and came around to score on a Joey Ortiz double in the second inning and added another base hit in the fourth. Frelick has had a part-time role recently, playing against right-handed pitchers and sitting against most lefties. Since May 20, he has started five of a possible 10 games while hitting seventh in the Brewers lineup.

It's possible the Brewers will ask him to play a few rehab games with Single-A Wisconsin this weekend, and if that happens, it will set Hoskins up for a return Monday at his old stomping grounds in Philadelphia. Hoskins has missed the last two weeks of action with a right hamstring strain.

Impact Myers moved from the bullpen into the rotation this past weekend in Boston and struck out four while allowing one run over 4.1 innings in his start Sunday. The performance was good enough to earn Myers a second straight turn through the rotation for what will be his sixth start overall with Milwaukee this season. Over his 22.1 total innings for the Brewers, Myers has pitched to a 4.43 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 23:9 K:BB.

Impact White has bounced around with three different teams this season (Toronto, San Francisco and Milwaukee) and hasn't pitched well at any stop, accumulating a 7.23 ERA and 13:13 K:BB over 23.2 innings. The 29-year-old offers the ability to be used as a starter or reliever, but his lack of minor-league options could limit interest from teams via trade or waivers.

Impact He'll join the Milwaukee bullpen as a replacement for right-hander Mitch White, who was designated for assignment in a corresponding move. Herget has made two relief appearances for Milwaukee this season, giving up two earned runs over 3.2 innings.

The infielder is enjoying a strong first year with the Brewers, slashing .280/.382/.492 with five home runs, 18 RBI, 21 runs scored, nine doubles and two triples over 158 plate appearances. Ortiz got a chance to lead off in Wednesday's game -- the first time he's done so all season -- after batting no higher than fifth over the last week.
