ImpactAs anticipated, Wicks will receive a second turn through the Cubs rotation after turning in a strong outing last weekend in Pittsburgh in his MLB debut. After allowing a leadoff home run to Ke'Bryan Hayes in his first career start, Wicks settled down and permitted just two more baserunners on the day while striking out nine over five innings en route to picking up the win. He'll draw a tougher assignment Friday while he faces off against the Reds at hitter-friendly Great American Ball Park.

ImpactShane Greene is also set to join the Cubs as a September call-up ahead of Friday's series opener in Cincinnati. Canario battled shoulder and ankle injuries in the first half of the 2023 season, but he's posted a solid .866 OPS with eight homers and two steals in 36 games since joining Triple-A Iowa in mid-July. The 23-year-old can back up all three outfield spots and serve as a dynamic option off the bench.

ImpactGreene has been working as a starter for Triple-A Iowa since the Cubs signed him to a minor-league contract in late June. He's flourished in that role, working to a 2.16 ERA with 20 strikeouts in five starts covering 20.1 innings. The 34-year-old right-hander could operate as a multi-inning relief option for Chicago or even get some rotation turns. He hasn't started a major-game since 2016.
