Austin Slater - On base four times SundaySlater went 2-for-3 with a double, two walks and two runs scored in Sunday's 9-5 win over the Brewers.
ImpactFor the second time in three games, Slater got aboard four times. He's hitting .455 (20-for-44) in July, and the strong hitting has allowed him to snag a couple of starts against right-handed pitchers in the last week. The outfielder's surge has his season slash line up to .303/.406/.461 with five home runs, 22 RBI, 32 runs scored, six stolen bases, five doubles and two triples this year. Manager Gabe Kapler is still likely to platoon Slater, though he could push for more playing time if LaMonte Wade and Luis Gonzalez continue to struggle after the All-Star break.

Thairo Estrada - Records 13th stealEstrada went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Sunday's 9-5 win over the Brewers.
ImpactEstrada heads into the All-Star break warm, going 9-for-29 (.310) in his last eight games. He singled and stole second in the seventh inning Sunday, giving him 13 steals in 15 attempts for the year. The infielder has added a .259/.310/.417 slash line with nine home runs, 36 RBI and 46 runs scored in 303 plate appearances. With Brandon Crawford (knee) likely to need more than a minimum stay on the injured list, Estrada should function as the Giants' primary shortstop in the short term.

LaMonte Wade Jr. - Crushes third homerWade went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk in Sunday's 9-5 win over the Brewers.
ImpactWade blew the game open with his third-inning blast, which stretched the Giants' lead to 7-1. Injuries have limited his chances to build momentum, but he's yet to have a multi-hit effort since returning from a knee injury June 29. Four of his seven hits since that date have gone for extra bases. The 28-year-old owns a .181/.294/.347 slash line with three homers, 14 RBI, seven runs scored, a triple and a double through 85 plate appearances. Wade is likely to be limited to playing against right-handed pitchers until he can show more consistency at the plate.

Jason Alexander - Struggles in bulk roleAlexander didn't factor into the decision during Sunday's 9-5 defeat at the hands of the Giants, allowing seven runs on eight hits and two walks with five strikeouts in five inning...
ImpactAlexander was originally tabbed to start Sunday's game, but manager Craig Counsell opted to go with Aaron Ashby instead with Alexander to follow. Ashby surrendered two runs in one plus innings and the 29-year-old was brought in during the second without much better fortune. He was sunk by a five-run third that opened with three straight hits and concluded with four two-out runs, then served up a two-run Brandon Belt homer in the sixth. Alexander has now been tagged for seven runs in two of his last seven appearances and ends the first half with a 5.60 ERA and 1.71 WHIP with 23 strikeouts in 45 innings across 10 appearances and seven starts.

Brandon Belt - Crushes two-run homerBelt went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI in a 9-5 victory against the Brewers on Sunday.
ImpactBelt began on the bench Sunday with lefty Aaron Ashby on the mound and entered in the second inning once Ashby had departed. The 34-year-old delivered an RBI-single in the second and tacked on two-run homer in the sixth off bulk pitcher Jason Alexander. Belt has been scorching of late -- batting 10-for-20 with two doubles and two homers over his last six games -- and concludes the first half with a .243/.355/.426 line, eight home runs, 22 runs and 19 RBI in 52 games.

Logan Webb - Earns victory in quality startWebb (9-3) earned the win during Sunday's 9-5 victory over Milwaukee, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks with five strikeouts in six plus innings.

The 25-year-old has now delivered seven straight quality starts -- during which he's pitched to a 1.37 ERA across 46 innings -- and ranks fourth in the league with 14 quality starts on the season.
