Jake Woodford - Won't start MondayWoodford won't start Monday against the Padres after he pitched out of the bullpen during Saturday's game against the Brewers, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
ImpactWoodford was in the mix to serve as the starter during Monday's series opener against San Diego, but he threw 39 pitches (29 strikes) over three innings Saturday. While the right-hander was effective against Milwaukee and picked up his first hold of the season, he'll no longer draw the start Monday. The Cardinals haven't yet announced a starter for Monday's matchup, but Packy Naughton seems like a strong candidate to take the mound, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Adrian Houser - Roughed up by CardinalsHouser (3-5) was tagged with the loss Saturday after he pitched four innings, giving up eight runs (five earned) on nine hits and a walk while striking out one versus the Cardinals...
ImpactHouser didn't have his best stuff Saturday, surrendering a season-high nine hits while also allowing two home runs including a three-run shot by Paul Goldschmidt in the third. The one strikeout was a season low for the starter and the eight-run blow up ended a two-game quality start streak for him. Houser had only allowed one homer all season before Saturday and the rough outing raised his ERA from 2.98 to 3.69. He tentatively lines up to face the Padres in his next start Thursday.
