Aaron Sanchez - Joins Twins on minor-league deal Sanchez signed a minor-league deal with the Twins on Monday, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Impact Sanchez struggled to an 8.33 ERA and an 11.3 percent strikeout rate in seven starts for the Nationals before being designated for assignment in late May. He'll give the Twins some added rotation depth, but given that he owns a 5.34 ERA since the start of the 2017 season, they're unlikely to turn to him unless injuries force their hand. He'll report to Triple-A St. Paul for now.

Bailey Ober - Heading back to injured list Ober will be placed on the 15-day injured list with a right groin injury Monday, Megan Ryan of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Impact Ober was sidelined with a right groin strain earlier in the season, and while the extent of his current injury isn't yet clear, he'll at least be forced to miss a few turns through the rotation. The right-hander gave up eight runs in nine innings over his last two starts, and it's possible that his injury contributed to his struggles. Cole Sands is a strong candidate to take Ober's place in the starting rotation.
