Impact Urshela knocked in both of Minnesota's runs in the contest, blasting a 434-foot solo shot to center field in the fourth inning and plating another run with an infield single in the 10th. It's been a quiet start to Urshela's tenure in Minnesota, as he's slashing a modest .232/.288/.313 across 111 plate appearances.

Devin Smeltzer - Solid in spot start Smeltzer pitched five innings against Cleveland on Saturday, allowing one run on three hits and two walks while striking out two. He did not factor in the decision.

Impact Smeltzer was called up from Triple-A St. Paul earlier in the day to make the start against the Guardians. The left-handed hurler held his own with five innings of one-run ball, pitching to contact but allowing only one extra-base hit. This was Smeltzer's first big-league start since 2020, as he missed most of last season with a left elbow injury. It's not yet clear if he'll get another turn in the rotation.

Impact Correa was recently placed on the 10-day injured list due to his right middle finger contusion, but he was able to participate in throwing and hitting drills prior to Saturday's game against the Guardians. The 27-year-old is hopeful that he'll be able to return after spending the minimum of 10 days on the injured list, and he's eligible to be activated as early as Monday.

Bailey Ober - Begins rehab assignment Ober (groin) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Impact Ober threw 20 pitches during a bullpen session Wednesday and will now return to game action with the team's Triple-A affiliate. If the right-hander's Triple-A start goes well Saturday, he'll likely be in the mix to rejoin the Twins' rotation late next week or sometime next weekend.

Miguel Sanó - Transferred to 60-day IL Sano (knee) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Saturday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Impact Sano underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee in early May, a procedure that typically requires 4-to-8 weeks of recovery time. Following his placement on the 60-day IL, the 29-year-old won't be eligible to return until the beginning of July. Alex Kirilloff was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday, so Jose Miranda should serve as the Twins' primary first baseman.

Devin Smeltzer - In line for spot start The Twins will call up Smeltzer from Triple-A St. Paul to start Saturday's game against the Guardians in Minnesota, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Impact He'll be making his first MLB start since Aug. 7, 2020, after he was sidelined for the majority of the 2021 campaign with an elbow injury. The Twins outrighted Smeltzer off the 40-man roster in November, but he stuck around in the organization and reported to St. Paul coming out of spring training. In his five starts for St. Paul this season, Smeltzer has turned in a 3.86 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 18:6 K:BB in 21 innings. Smeltzer will likely head back to the minors following Saturday's start, as the Twins should get one or both of Dylan Bundy (illness) and Bailey Ober (groin) back from the injured list next week.

Impact Gray got through four innings with just one run allowed before Austin Hedges knocked a solo shot to lead off the fifth. The 32-year-old righty threw 82 pitches and forced just nine swinging strikes but still struck out a season-high eight batters. Gray has yet to finish five innings in any of his four starts this year. He'll carry a 3.68 ERA into his projected start in Oakland next week.
