ImpactHe struck out five and did not allow a run in 2.2 innings, pitching Wednesday and Thursday. The Twins will call up Cole Sands to provide a fresh arm out of the bullpen.

ImpactSands is one of the Twins' top pitching prospects, but this will likely be an opportunity to work out of the big-league bullpen. He has struggled this year at Triple-A, logging a 7.82 ERA in 12.2 innings through four appearances, but he had a 2.46 ERA in 80.1 innings last year at Double-A.

ImpactWith lefty Zach Logue on the hill for Oakland, it seems the Twins will ease Kirilloff back into action. Gilberto Celestino is starting in center field with Byron Buxton getting the start at DH and Jose Miranda starting at first base. Also of note: Max Kepler and Trevor Larnach remain in the lineup against the southpaw.

ImpactHe hit .227 with zero extra-base hits, six strikeouts and six walks in 22 at-bats on his rehab assignment. Luis Arraez was placed on the COVID-19 injured list in a corresponding move. Kirilloff should assume a regular role with the Twins going forward.

ImpactHe was originally going to make a rehab start for Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday, but now it's looking like he could make that start in the majors with Chris Paddack getting pushed to Sunday. Gray threw three scoreless innings with five strikeouts and no walks Sunday for Single-A Fort Myers.
