The Minnesota Twins’ series finale against the Detroit Tigers was postponed because of rain

Matthew Boyd - Tigers-Twins postponedBoyd and the Tigers won't face the Twins on Sunday after the game was postponed due to inclement weather in Detroit, Megan Ryan of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
ImpactThe two teams will make up the game as part of a split doubleheader July 16. The Tigers will be off until Tuesday, when they continue their homestand with a three-game set against the Royals. Expect manager A.J. Hinch to bump each of his rotation members back due to the postponement, which would allow Boyd to start the series opener versus Kansas City.

Kenta Maeda - Twins-Tigers postponedMaeda and the Twins won't face the Tigers on Sunday after the game was postponed due to rainy weather in Detroit, Megan Ryan of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
ImpactThe two teams plan to make up the game as part of a split doubleheader July 16. Minnesota has yet to announce how the postponement may affect its pitching schedule, but Maeda will presumably just have his start bumped to the Twins' next game Tuesday in Chicago versus the White Sox. Maeda would line up for a second start later that weekend at home against the Athletics.

Akil Baddoo - Returns to lineup SundayBaddoo is starting in center field and batting eighth in Sunday's game against the Twins.
ImpactBaddoo will return to the lineup after starting Saturday's game on the bench. The 22-year-old got off to a hot start this season but he's fallen into an extended slump the past few weeks. Over his last 15 games, Baddoo is batting just .116 while striking out nearly 46 percent of the time.

Harold Castro - Starting again SundayCastro is starting at shortstop and batting second in Sunday's game against the Twins.
ImpactCastro started in center field Saturday and went 3-for-4, so the Tigers will reward him with another start in the series finale. The 27-year-old is batting .302 so far this season, so he could continue to earn playing time at the expense of players such as Niko Goodrum, who is on the bench Sunday, and Willi Castro.

JaCoby Jones - Sits in second straightJones is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.
ImpactJones looks like he could be the odd man out of the Detroit outfield in most games following Nomar Mazara's return from the 10-day injured list Saturday. He'll be on the bench for a second straight day while manager A.J. Hinch rolls out an outfield of Mazara, Robbie Grossman and Akil Baddoo. The righty-hitting Jones should at least play regularly against left-handed pitching while one of Mazara or Baddoo likely sits out on those occasions.
