Edouard Julien - Showing advanced skills in Double-AJulien is batting .292/.436/.494 with 12 homers, 12 steals and a 66:81 BB:K through 74 games for Double-A Wichita.
ImpactWhile Julien is still striking out a fair amount, he's balanced that out with a walk rate north of 20 percent, which has helped him put up some of the best OBP numbers in the minors across the last two seasons. Julien has also found his power stroke recently, smashing five homers in his last 10 games -- a stretch in which he's also hit .324 with a 10:7 BB:K. It's also noteworthy that the 23-year-old Canadian has spent almost the entire 2022 season at second base; last year, he made appearances at first, second, third and left field, but it seems the Twins are no longer grooming him as a jack of all trades. Of course, that also means that he's blocked by Jorge Polanco for the time being.

Jorge Alfaro - Not starting MondayAlfaro isn't starting Monday against Colorado, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
ImpactAlfaro has alternated starts behind the dish recently, and he'll take a seat after he went 0-for-3 with a strikeout Sunday. Austin Nola is starting at catcher and batting eighth.

Wil Myers - Activated, starting MondayMyers (knee) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list and is starting Monday against the Rockies, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
ImpactMyers was expected to return at some point during the Padres' weekend series against the Twins, but the team ultimately waited to activate him until Monday. The 31-year-old appeared in 14 rehab games over the last few weeks, and he hit .264 with four home runs, two doubles, eight runs and seven RBI. He's starting at first base Monday with Eric Hosmer (neck) out, and Myers should see regular playing time now that he's back to full health.

Reiss Knehr - Set to start TuesdayKnehr will start one of the two games San Diego will play against Colorado on Tuesday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
ImpactIt's not yet known whether Knehr will start the first or second game in Tuesday's twin bill, but he is set to pitch for the Padres for the first time since July 12 and just the fourth time all season. Knehr has not allowed a run through 8.1 big-league innings in 2022.

Eric Hosmer - Not starting MondayHosmer (neck) isn't in the lineup Monday against the Rockies, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
ImpactHosmer was removed from Sunday's game against the Twins due to a neck strain and will be out of the lineup for at least one matchup. Whether he's available off the bench remains to be seen, but Wil Myers will start at first base while Nomar Mazara starts in right field.
