Jacob deGrom - Starting rehab assignment Thursday
DeGrom (elbow) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Tuesday before making his first rehab start Thursday for Double-A Frisco, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.
Impact
DeGrom will pitch in a game for the first time since he underwent Tommy John surgery in June 2023, with Thursday's rehab assignment being the last step of the right-hander's lengthy recovery process. The 35-year-old is expected to require several rehab starts, but he appears to be on track to return in September to assist the Rangers in their playoff push.

Grant Anderson - Joining active roster
The Rangers recalled Anderson from Triple-A Round Rock on Monday, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.
Impact
Anderson will replace Gerson Garabito -- who threw four scoreless innings Sunday -- on the 26-man roster, giving the Rangers a fresh arm for the start of a three-game series against the Pirates. In 22.2 innings with the Rangers, Anderson has a 7.54 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP.

Gerson Garabito - Sent to Triple-A
The Rangers optioned Garabito to Triple-A Round Rock on Monday, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.
Impact
Garabito had been with the Rangers since July 29, posting a 3.48 ERA across 10.1 innings for the team, including four scoreless frames Sunday. However, the Rangers will cycle in Grant Anderson and his fresh arm for some immediate bullpen help.

Dane Dunning - Garnering start Monday
Dunning will start Monday's contest against the Pirates.
Impact
The choice seemed to come down to Dunning or Jose Urena and the Rangers have opted for the former. Dunning has been deployed as a swingman this season and this will be his second appearance in a row as a starter after he allowed four runs over five frames last week versus the Red Sox. While Dunning could earn additional turns in the rotation, his spot is tenuous with Max Scherzer (shoulder) and Jacob deGrom (elbow) lurking.
